Several incidents of violence, arson and clashes marred the Ram Navami processions across the country on Thursday. The clashes that broke out on Thursday continued till Friday, prompting the police to make multiple arrests and impose prohibitory orders to avoid untoward situations.
Violence was reported in Bihar's Sasaram and Bihar Sharif towns, Bengal's Howrah, Haryana's Sonipat, Maharashtra's Auranagabad and Malad, Uttar Pardesh's Lucknow and others and the situation remained tense with the police conducting flag marches to instill confidence among people.
