New approval for the first-line treatment of advanced small cell lung cancer comes after 40 years with immunotherapy.
On March 18, 2019, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved atezolizumab active ingredient immunotherapy in combination with carboplatin and etoposide chemotherapies for the first-line treatment of adult patients with advanced small cell lung cancer.
