Turkey's largest technological museum July 15 Democracy Museum has recently opened
The "July 15 Democracy Museum", which had been inaugurated by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is located across the Presidential Complex in the capital of Ankara. The museum narrates the coup attempt in 8 halls with audio and visual a technology and sensor effects.
The museum design and build by Outdoor Factory aims to showcase the democracy acts and the coup attempts to future generations with digital technology in 65,000 sqm.
It includes materials from major social causes and movements of democracy. It is a remarkably inclusive collection, that reflects the history.
Visitors will witness history in the "longest night" hall of the museum, where the events from the beginning of the coup attempt on July 15 to its prevention are reenacted with a giant video projection application. The stories of 251 martyrs are explained in the museum, where the experiences of citizens, veterans and martyrs' relatives are shared with digital films.
750 people actively took part in the realization of the museum, which has been under construction for about 7 months. Animators, 2d and 3d modelers, illustrators, music and sound designers, video artists, art directors, production team, copywriters, costume and lighting designers, sculptors, painters, architects and civil engineers had worked.
In the 2nd hall, the display was done using the back light technique in the studio and the point cloud design technique was used. In the 4th Hall, the contents were modeled in 3d and turned into a mapping experience as a complement to real footage.
In the museum the biggest artificial plane tree, 23 meters tall, symbolizing the bright future of Turkey with its branches and leaves, is the most magnificent structure of the museum. The realism of the 90 silicon sculptures representing citizens who are on democracy watch after July 15 is indistinguishable from the visitors.
Turkey's most successful investments such as high-speed trains, unmanned aerial vehicles, Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge, Kanuni drilling ship along the 235-meter road that started with Ahlat Seljuk tombstones in the valley extending to the 15 July Martyrs Monument, which was designed and implemented by Outdoor Factory before. Turkey's recent breakthroughs with prestigious projects are explained with reliefs.
The museum is now open to visit and President Erdoğan thanked Outdoor Factory and everyone who had taken part in the museum opening and mentioned that everyone must come and see.
