At least 42 people were killed and 17 injured after a bus rammed into a tractor trailer in southern Pakistan early on Sunday, according to a Washington Post report.
The passenger bus, which was travelling along a highway to Karachi and was reportedly carrying about 60 people, including a number of women and children crashed into a flatbed truck parked on the side of the road.
The exact cause of the accident remains unclear, but preliminary reports suggest the driver lost control of the bus after attempting to overtake another vehicle.
Images taken from the site of the crash show how the head-on collision caused the truck's rear to pierce directly through the centre of the bus.
Fatal road accidents are common in Pakistan, due in large part to poor infrastructure and disregard for traffic rules.
