"It's a lot of places overseas I haven't been. I haven't been to Australia. I haven't been to Africa, Egypt. I figured I get to take a vacation and see all of the places I haven't seen and get to play music for people who haven't yet experienced what I do but they've heard my music but that haven't seen me rock. In London, I've been there a couple of times but I haven't been there for two years. Different places like Australia. I haven't been there so I am excited about that."

4. SOUNDBITE: (English) Jay- Z - on running a record label:
"I wouldn't say it is less fun. I think it is needed. I like to say it as the inmates running the asylum now. You have to let people infiltrate the system in order for them to correct it. You have to get in there. People that are outside of the system have to get inside of the system in order for it to be better. In order for people not to take advantage of artists. In order for people to care more about the music than quarterly numbers."

6. SOUNDBITE: (English) Jay-Z:
"That's my favourite album. That is my baby right there. As far as the guest appearances, I am just amazed at the level of talent I got on it between Mary (J. Blige) and Big (Small). You've got to remember I was an artist out of nowhere. I didn't have a single out on anybody's record. I didn't have a record deal that everyone was talking about. I just came out of nowhere and to have that level of talent on your debut album it was a blessing. Everything just worked out."

8. SOUNDBITE: (English) Jay-Z - on recording a new album:
"I go back and forth with it. This makes me want to go out and perform. I am looking forward to going out overseas and touring over there. I don't know if it is going to be this level of production, but just going through the rehearsals, now I'm looking forward to going international. I don't know how much of this is for an album. That has been on my mind. It comes. It goes."

10. SOUNDBITE: (English) Jay-Z:
"I certainly believe there were more superstars in 96' 97'. Prior to 96' you had Big, Pac. You had so many different talented artists from different places. Now there are a bunch of talented guys but they are not breaking all the way through. For some reason, I don't know if it is the way the industry is now, but it doesn't seem like the next wave of superstars hasn't arrived yet. It will happen. It has to. It's inevitable. I just believe it hasn't arrived yet, that next wave of superstars."

12. SOUNDBITE: (English) Jay-Z:
"I believe the industry as a whole needs certain things to sustain it and keep it alive. You need Dre albums. You need Eminem albums. You need 50 (Cent) albums. You need big artists. You need major events to happen. It's like you are giving it little shocks. When I think about it in those terms, I believe that an album is needed, the same way I believe a Dre album is needed. On the other side, what I'm doing is equally as important. It is important for the artists. It's aspirational for the artists so they know there is something they can ascend to. Other than just you have a three year run and then no one ever hears about you."
