I’m Michael Wield, I’m a Programmes Officer for Stonewall Scotland. I work with organisations across the country to help improve LGBT equality within the workplace and within services.
Organisations can ensure that their policies and procedures are fully LGBT inclusive. So for example ensuring that their bully and harassment policy is fully inclusive and explicit around homophobia, biphobia and transphobia.
Organisations can get involved with LGBT history month, days like Pride, days like Trans Day of Visibility, Bi Day of Visibility. We would really encourage organisations to visibly be committed to that – whether that can be changing their logos or talking about raising the profile of LGBT role models within their organisation.
We would ensure that all training is fully inclusive of all LGBT identities, in terms of their equality and diversity training.
So there’s three key steps that we would encourage all organisations to take.
