August 18-22, 2014. The Lower Mekong Initiative Workshop in the Network-enabled Collaboration series on “Cyberinfrastructure and Water Resources in the Lower Mekong Region” brought together scientists in water-related research disciplines and their network support staff from the Lower Mekong region (including Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam) and scientists and network experts from United States to provide an opportunity to raise awareness, establish and strengthen research relationships, and to provide training in network skills and techniques to enhance opportunities for network-enabled collaboration.
The Network Startup Resource Center (NSRC), Indiana University and the National Agency for Science and Technology Information (NASATI) in Vietnam organized the workshop program to include panels, tutorials and brainstorming on opportunities for network-enabled collaboration among scientists in the Lower Mekong Region and with US scientists.
This workshop was funded by the U.S. National Science Foundation and the U.S. Department of State; managed by Indiana University and the University of Oregon; and in addition sponsored by NCAR, PRAGMA, NASATI, and TEIN*CC, among other organizations involved in the planning of the meeting.
