I got to unpack the Decathlon Kitchen Table for the very first time, and was able to use it over the course of a 3-day overland trip at the beach.
I had my trailer with me, so even if this product was quite large when packed, space wasn't much of an issue so I was able to bring it along for the trip.
I thought the shelves were just fabric material so the food items made it sag, but later in I noticed there were actual platform inserts for each of the shelves to prevent them from sagging. Brilliant!
Here are my thoughts:
Pros:
• Very easy to set up and pack down
• Enough space for 2 burners covered by the windbreaker (depending on the design of your stove), plus space for chopping / food prep
• Mesh cover keeps the food items on the shelves protected from insects, flies, small animals, etc.
• Comes with a hook on the side for a trash bag
Cons:
• When packed, it is huge and consumes a lot of cargo space
The verdict:
• Even if it is easy to set up and pack down, you still have to fill the shelves to get full use out of the product, and then clear and clean it out again before packing it up.
• Because of that, I find it to be ideal for overland trips where you camp at one spot for several days at a time.
