An analysis completed by the Parliamentary Budget Office has revealed Queensland is facing a $12 billion black hole in infrastructure spending.
If the Liberal Newman government had won the previous state election instead of Labor, Queensland would have spent billions more on big ticket projects.
The analysis revealed the Palaszczuk government was significantly behind Victoria and New South Wales in terms of spending over the past five years.
Ahead of the October 31 state election, Labor promised $52 billion in infrastructure spending over the next four years if they were voted to stay in government.
The Liberal National Party, however, promised an upgrade to the Bruce Highway from Gympie to Cairns if voters favoured Deb Frecklington at the upcoming election.
The upgrade would take 15 years and cost $35 billion.
