I started a new quest to find the best ice cream or gelato in London and what a start it was!
I spent an excellent day around Covent Garden in London trying gelato at La Gelateria and ice cream at Udderlicious.
First on the list was La Gelateria. I paid £3.5 for ‘one' generous scoop with two flavors. My pick was a little bit extravagant Honey, Rosemary and Orange Zest and the ultimate classic, Sicilian Pistachio. Both had a rich flavor, and I could definitely feel the freshness and quality of ingredients.
What La Gelateria really stand out with is how they are not afraid of experimenting with exciting flavor combinations. Honey, Rosemary, and Orange Zest, Basil and Chilli or White Peppermint just to name a few. If you like to experiment never miss La Gelateria!
Second stop was at Udderlicious for some dairy and vegan ice cream. I tried Salted Caramel and vegan Matcha flavor made with oat milk. £4.80 for 2 small scoops.
The ice cream was delicious! Creamy with intense flavors. I tried to convince my wife that the ice cream is not good and she shouldn’t try it, but naturally, she caught my bluff.
Which one should you go for? I will prepare the ultimate list of London's the best ice cream and gelato shops at the end of these series as this was only the start and it is too early to tell.
I like both, La Gelateria and Udderlicious very much. I definitely picked some heavy weights for my first video. It comes down to your taste preference. If you like to experiment with flavors and like gelato, definitely go to La Gelateria. However, if you are wandering around Covent Garden and just want some super creamy, sweet, ice cream than don’t look anywhere else and head straight for Udderlicious. You can’t miss the line.
Thank you for watching!
