This tutorial will walk you through the process of how to buy stocks within this app, how to create pies, how to use Pies that are already created, and how to setup your chosen pie to automatically purchase stocks without any additional input from you after setup.

M1 Finance is an investing application which allows you to purchase fractional shares, also known as partial shares, of stocks. For instance, with as little as $10, you can buy a piece of 1 or many of the stocks, ETFs, and index funds you would like to invest in. Since you're able to buy multiple stocks with your $10, you could literally buy ONE CENT worth of a stock within your pie! This is amazing because it opens up higher priced stocks like Amazon and Google to investors who can't afford to buy a full share each week, month, or maybe even each year.

Also for more seasoned investors, and those with a larger amount of cash available to invest, you can use M1 Finance's automated investing to simplify your investing process while maximizing every dollar! Since you're able to buy fractional shares you can ensure that every $1 is working. As an example, if you have $1000 you can invest each month, and you wanted to buy Apple stock, you would only be able to purchase 4 shares at Apple's current price which is over $200 per share. This would leave the additional $100 or so dollars in your account uninvested with a traditional brokerage, but with fractional shares you can buy a smaller fraction of Apple (ex: 4.1258 shares) in order to invest the full $1000. This is great!
