Why Did Palpatine's Voice Change After Killing Lace Windu?

As you might be able to tell, his voice sounds very different to when he was chancellor and even during his time as Emperor. Palpatine had spent many years hiding the true nature of his appearance and his voice from the Jedi using the force cloak ability. However, this doesn't explain the dramatic change entirely. This is most likely because he had used so much dark side energy to kill Windu that the dark side literally augmented and empowered his voice as it flowed through his body.
