Evgeny Belyaev recorded this with the Red Star Chorus and Orchestra in 1992, not long before he died. It formed part of his last recording. He was 65 at the time and the tenor voice does not endure well, but he could still hit the high notes and had lost none of his technique. It makes a nice coda to the beautiful recording of 1968, when he was at his vocal best.
The photograph is of the memorial to Belyaev at his home town of Klinsky (Bryansk Oblast), of which he was an Honorary Citizen and where the children's music school bears his name.
