As a Cantonese I grew up drinking Mom's nutritious chicken soup. But I'm quite clueless on Chinese herbs and its benefits. It sounds silly but I find going to the Chinese medicine hall a little intimidating, so in order to recreate the soup I love, I try buying ready-packed chicken soup from the Supermarket.
Different brands yields slightly different flavours so experiment and find your favourite! You can also be flexible and add extra stuff like vegetables, different types of meat or noodles.
Most importantly, know that it is not difficult to prepare a delicious and nutritious home cooked meal. I'm not a professional cook, just a very ordinary stay home mom who cooks 3 meals a day for her two babies and her hubby. I have many friends starting new lives as a spouse and parent but find themselves a little lost in the kitchen. These videos are for them. Simple everyday dishes, nothing fancy nothing complicated.
