Not much info on this particular release but plenty of info online about the man himself. Joe Patek (1907-1987) was a Czech Texan polka bandleader and entrepreneur, owning a grocery and smokehouse in Shiner, TX that is still open today. The Joe Patek Orchestra is considered one of the best Czech polka bands in the country, noted in particular for incorporating "swing" style into their repertoire. Joe took over the band from his father and brother before him, touring and recording frequently until his retirement in 1982.
Joe Patek's trademark song was "The Shiner Song" which is used still as the town's high school fight song. The band also had close ties with the well-known Shiner Brewery, whose logo adorned their touring trailer.
This 8-track was released on TNT records, aka Tanner 'N' Texas
[ Ссылка ] Joe Patek's Orchestra also released various 45s and 78s early on. As with many other Texan polka bands they have appeared on various compilations highlight Texan folk / traditional music from Bohemia, Moravia, and Germany.
