Tirupati is easily one of the most renowned pilgrim centres in India and among the numerous hymns extolling the Lord of Tirupati, Sri Venkateswara Suprabhatam is easily one of the highest renowned Suprabhatam, literally is an invocation sung at dawn to wake the Lord up.
Sri Venkateswara Suprabhatam is a humn of 29 stanzas opens with a sloka from Valmiki Ramayana, the sloka with which Sage Viswamitra awakes Sri Rama. Then the humn evokes pictures of the chirping of birds, humming of bees, churning of curd - all sounds om fact passing for the morning prayer unto the lord. All the devas and all the saints and sages have assembled in holy congregation for serving the Presiding deity of Tirupati and hence the fervent prayer for waking him up.
Then follows Sri Venkateswara Stotra comprising 11 slokas of bewitching rythmic undulation.
Then follows Sri Venkateswara Prapatti, noted for its rich imagery. Its sixteen stanzas are an outpouring of the Bhakta's dedication to the feet of the Lord.
The hymns are rounded off to a fitting finale with Mangalasasanam - or benedictory hymn of 14 stanzas.
