[COVID-19: Mayor's Message]
The mayor talks about several topics on this day of Gaspésie. Don't forget to display your colors with the various tools developed by the organization Living in the Gaspé. A 100% Gaspesian virtual show will be broadcast on Facebook at 7:30 p.m., be there.
1. Good news about the plans announced by the government in its latest bill to boost Quebec's economy. Among the list of projects announced, no less than 3 affect the City of Gaspé: the acceleration of the rehabilitation of the railway, the relocation of the garage of the Ministry of Transport from the city centre to the industrial park of the Augustines and the construction of a house for the elders in Rivière-au-Renard. These are three projects that will lead to a plus to the economy and quality of life of the people of Gaspé.
2. The mayor also tells us about the interventions made with Quebec City to support the idea of linking the Magdalen Islands with the port of Gaspé for a maritime link.
3. The Mayor also discusses the draft Regulations governing camping in the territory. The board is in listening mode and reads comments on the various media platforms and adjustments are possible before the final regulation is adopted. We ask people to express their ideas and opinions with respect, that is how we can build a stronger regulation, even if it is difficult to build consensus.
4. Finally, the mayor informs you that the playgrounds are now open, but that we are still waiting for clear guidelines from Public Health to proceed with the opening of our various sanitary blocks.
