Charlie "Lucky" Luciano - The Man Who Organized Crime 1897 - 1928 "I had drivers that never got caught, shooters that could shoot straight & not miss, I had counters by the dozen, these were not guys in green shades we had plenty of women too, and you had to remember all the numbers in your head as nothing was ever written on paper." By the age of 30 Charlie had built an empire born in Italy Lercara Friddi my first part of the documentary will take you from 1897 all the way through 1928.
I have used his book The Luciano Testament as a backdrop every single quote you hear is either taken from the book or taken from interviews he was giving while in Lercara Friddi & Naples. He walked away from organized crime; by 1959 the love of his life had died of Breast Cancer. He had totally given up in regards to going back to New York or going back to the rackets. He wanted to clear his name so he became the first mob boss to write a book. He told his life story with the intention of making a movie. Meyer, Vito, Bufalino & more found out they shut it all down. Meyer even sent a death threat. But that didn't stop Charlie behind closed doors he was talking to Martin A. Gosch and Richard Hammer.
Then the mob found out. They contacted Charlie again. Petrified for the authors life Charlie contacted him & demanded he fly back to Naples. Charlie rushed to Naples airport to meet him. As they were rushing to his car; Martin turned to see Luciano falling to the floor Charlie died of a heart attack then & there in 1962. The book came out 10 years later after the Valachi Papers Book, then Costello wrote one through George Levy his lawyer, then Meyer wrote one through Uri Dan. Bonanno then wrote his own called a man of honor. Bonanno book was then used to nail the five families in New York. When Charlie's book came out most the mobsters were dead only a few were alive, Costello died before his came out. Meyer never spoke to much about organised crime. Bonanno let the cat out the bag. He was alive and Rudy used it against the current mob bosses of New York. One year ago today I decided to chase my dreams and create my own documentaries regarding history and organised crime.
I studied history, organised crime and world history but ended up not doing much with the knowledge I had I would talk to people about history and organised crime especially the Kennedy assassination & my knowledge on the subjects would make people say "I was wasting my talent in a dead end job." I knew they were right but I never knew how and what exactly I wanted to do. I loved movies cinematography especially Martin Scorsese and mob movies. I loved watching mob history videos on YouTube & wanted to create my own.
I always felt the history of organized crime especially involving politics never went discussed & then that's when it hit me why not talk about it myself & create my own channel. It took a while for it all to get set up. I started with Instagram, then tiktok then YouTube. I was finally doing what I enjoyed; editing videos about the history of organised crime. I did it all alone I learned editing, putting Documentaries together everything in a few months at the same I was writing scripts, creating videos, updating images of old school gangsters, researching more to make sure my history was on point, buying magazines printed all the way back in 1949 and more.
It was going swell till today I got some devastating news that one of my friends has passed away of heart attack at the age of 31. We were school friends; his death is a wake up call, out of everyone in my group he was the successful one; he made something of himself with a successful business & a great family. I have to put my doc out sooner then I thought. I wanted to add some finishing touches but I have no time.
I wanted to drop it on the 15 of this month. But a change of plan means it will be up today or tomorrow. I want to end it on this; never be afraid to chase your dreams; it will be difficult but you will love it along the way; enjoy your time with friends and family & remember you have purpose in life. Grudges will hurt more than them so let go of it trust me. Life's short you and they will be here for a while leave a mark a good mark on people.
REST IN PEACE OZZY!!!!
