The Moon is actually bigger than Pluto. Even though Pluto was once considered a planet, it's much smaller than our Moon. The Moon is roughly two-thirds the diameter of Pluto. This difference in size is one of the reasons Pluto was reclassified as a dwarf planet in 2006.
Pluto's diameter is around 1,400 miles (2,370 kilometers) wide. That's about two-thirds the diameter of Earth's Moon. For reference, the United States is only about half the width of Pluto!
