This video charts 20 years of the International Campaign to Ban Landmines (ICBL): a campaign of ordinary people around the world that do extraordinary work in pushing for a mine-free world. The diversity, expertise, and flexibility of the IBCL's global campaign have always been its biggest asset.
In addition to charting the successes of the campaign to date, including working in partnership with governments, international organisations, and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to achieve a global ban on the use, production, stockpiling, and transfer of antipersonnel mines through the adoption of the Mine Ban Treaty, the film also emphasizes the vital work that still needs to be done. The ICBL will not stop until we reach our goal and end the suffering caused by antipersonnel mines. On our 20th anniversary we are challenging all of you to stay and help finish the job of ridding the world of landmines once and for all, in years not decades.
The ICBL dedicates this film to all our inspirational campaigners worldwide, to all victims of landmines and to the millions still living in the deadly shadow of this weapon today.
