Miami developer announces 70-Story First-Ever Solar-Powered High-Rise. The developers said the 850-foot-tall building will mark the first high-rise residential tower in the world that uses its own solar power by integrating photovoltaic glazing in the glass facade, which forms the building’s “solar backbone.” The building is expected to generate about 170 megawatts of energy that will power a big part of the amenity spaces, which will lower maintenance fees for buyers and decrease demand on the grid during peak hours. #environment #solar #solarpanel #battery #skyscraper
