After soaking for 3 months or more, you will have a Chinese herbal drink that you can drink warm or cold. There are health benefits to drinking this Chinese medicine herbal drink. You can talk to your local Chinese herbal or health store to find out what herbs are best for you. Check out the benefits of each individual herb in books or on the internet. Chinese supermarkets sell these herbs and often are grouped in combinations for maximum health benefits.
CHINESE MEDICINAL HERBAL DRINK
1 litre of alcohol (gin, brandy or whiskey)
Traditional Chinese Herbs:
2 tbsp. Goji Berries
2 tbsp. Dried Longan
2 tbsp. Huai San
2 pcs. Astragalus Root
2 pcs. Codonopsis Root
8 Red Dates
1 pc. Eucommia Bark
Put Chinese Medicine Herbs in a large jar. Add the 1 lite of alcohol.
Put jar lid on and tighten. Put tape around the jar lid to prevent evaporation of the alcohol. Put away in a dark cool place for 3 month to 1 year. Liquid will turn dark brown. Drink warm or cold.
Check with a Chinese Health Store to find out what herbs you should buy. Different combinations of herbs are used for different health benefits. The Chinese Medicine herbs can be taken out of the alcohol to make soup after 3 months. Enjoy!
