The new SL-C510 is a solar-powered marine lantern with class leading features and up to 8 nautical-mile visible range. The innovative lantern provides advanced monitoring and control features utilising Bluetooth and Satellite technology. We have got a fully UV stabilised optic capable of producing up to 1100 candelas in the white, this is really innovative. We’ve got and integrated OLED display, touchscreen display, that will give you time and date of last visit, its present settings, its serial number.
The second thing is we’ve got our Bluetooth loaded in there. If there is no safe access to the lantern, you can access the Bluetooth up to 50 metres away. From here you can interrogate the lantern, get its current settings, its position, and that’s really good because it comes with the solar calculator as well. Before you actually place the product, you can check its going to work in that specific location or area.
The composite polymer-moulded handle and base is very innovative, with a 4-point multi-power point tracker that tracks the power off each individual solar panel. We are using the very latest monocrystalline solar panels which gives up an extra 20% efficiency.
Bluetooth allows each light to be configured using a phone or tablet and enables a host of advanced features such as a unique lantern name, security PIN, flash character including a custom setting and intensity calculation.
For seasonal use, operators can set the lantern to hibernate during specifics date periods.
Lantern data such as the map location from Google maps, battery voltage and solar panel charging rate can be interrogated from on-board the maintenance vessel, greatly improving operator safety and reducing maintenance costs by removing the need to physically access the lantern.
The SL-C510 supports integrated AIS delivering the world’s first compact self-contained AIS enabled solar marine lantern. The small form factor and low power consumption enables Type 1 or Type 3 and supports all standard messages including AIS Message 6 and Message 21.
Using the Iridium Low Earth Orbit satellite network the SL-C510 can be monitored and controlled anywhere on earth with an integrated satellite module enabled with two-way functionality. Using a proprietary software portal with advanced asset management module, users can now monitor and control their lanterns remotely and perform infield asset management.
