The massive whale carcass that washed up on a beach in Cornwall this morning was examined by experts during a post-mortem.
The deceased whale, measuring 54 feet, was identified as a fin whale, the second largest animal in the world, when it was discovered on Newquay's Fistral beach.
The whale is seen in photos shot this morning, laid out on the sand, its mouth, stomach, and fin covered in blood.
