Vladimir Vasiliev first choreographed his ballet "Anyuta" 1982 for a ballet fiim made by Alexander Belinsky. It was made after the novel by the great Russian wrighter Anton Pavlovitch Tchekhov "Anna on the Neck" for Vasiliev's wife - the legendary Russian Ballerina Ekaterina Maximova. 1986 Vasiliev staged "Anyuta" on the ballet stage - premiers were on the 21st of January 1986 in "San Carlo" (Napoli) and on the 31st of May in Bolshoi in Moscow.
The music for the ballet was written by Valeriy Gavrilin and for the theater version addiationally arranged by Stanislav Gorkovenko.
For his 80th Anniversary Valdimir Vasiliev restaged his ballet for the Perm Opera and Ballet Theater and acted himself again as Pyotr Leontievitch.
