NOAA operates three types of satellite systems for the United States. Our polar orbiting satellites, geostationary satellites and deep space satellite all provide crucial environmental data from their unique vantage points.
And while NOAA operates many satellites, no one country alone can afford to effectively monitor the entire Earth. Instead, NOAA partners with the international community to leverage data from satellites around the world to provide a more complete understanding of our ever changing world.
