For those of you who dont know, Spectrum was one of the first main nightclubs in London (along with Future and Dune) to hold all the acid house parties legally(ish). DJs perfroming at such nights were Paul Oakenfold, Nancy Noise, etc.
Acid house was lesser known when first arriving to UK from Ibiza and previously acid house was originally experimented in Tenerife! Oakenfold made it popular in Ibiza and helped bring it to the UK.
Once Timeout magazine got wind of the underground scene, within a week of advertising the popularity grew from a handful of regular goers to people queueing in their hundreds. Some of the original hedonists tell me how this ended the scene for them :(
I cant remember the DJ's name who recorded this but its the oldest dance live set i have.
