Since Song Dynasty, the HuangPu Ancient Port had been an important entrance for the maritime silk-road in China.
It was also the one and only port in China that, in more than 80 years, opened to the world during Qing Dynasty under the closed-door policy.
There are several places named "HuangPu" in Guangzhou, but here is the original one, for the first group of foreign businessmen who landed here couldn't speak the right pronunciation and then gave it a new name.
It witnesses the prosperity of the silk-road.
