Located In The Northwestern Part Of Canada, Covering Roughly 31,328 Square Km In Total Surface Area, The Great Bear Lake Is The Largest Freshwater Lake In Canada. It Is The 8th Largest Freshwater Lake In The World By Surface Area And 4th Largest Freshwater Lake In North America, After Lake Superior, Lake Huron, and Lake Michigan. Great Bear Lake Is Roughly 320 Km Long And Is 175 Km Wide At Its Widest Point. Its Average Depth Is 72 Meters And Has A Maximum Depth Of 413 Meters With An Water Volume Of 2,236 Cubic Kilometers. It Is The Largest Lake That Lies Entirely In Canada.

Lake Superior And Lake Huron, Located In The Great Lakes Region Are Larger Compared To Great Bear Lake, But They Are Situated At The Border Of Usa And Canada And Are Shared By Both The Countries.

Various Estimates Suggest That There Are Over 2 Million Lakes In The Country, Of Which 31,752 Lakes Measure Over Three Square Kilometers, And 563 Lakes Are At Least 100 Square Kilometers Large In Surface Area .
