In a world of (mostly) falling interest rates, Poland has become an outlier. Adam Glapiński, the governor of the Polish central bank, has adopted a hawkish stance in July, saying that no cuts should be expected before 2026. Some economists disagree, and to spice things up a bit, Glapiński may be facing a trial before a special court for public officials for his dovish actions before the 2023 parliamentary elections.
