Business was booming in the US after WWII and the Florida real estate bubble of the 1920s was a reflection of that. Simply put, the Florida real estate bubble of the 20s was initially fueled by the fact that on the one hand, Americans became more and more affluent and on the other hand, by the appearance of the automobile that enabled the middle class to travel more.
Florida quickly became one of the top destinations of the US and the Florida real estate bubble started gaining traction. The population of Florida grew and the authorities loved seeing all of that bubble money flowing in their direction. What initially seemed like a healthy bull market quickly turned into what we today refer to as the Florida real estate bubble of the 1920, with home prices that quadrupled within a year and people who invested in Florida real estate without ever setting foot in the state.
Let's take a step back and, roughly 100 years later, analyze the Florida real estate bubble of the '20s with a clear head.
