After many years of experience with martial arts I decided to remember my roots in the European culture. I started looking for images which are familiar to people who were socialized by Western culture. In eastern tradition there is the Five Element theory. So I decided to combine the concept of the four Western elements earth, air, fire and water with four animal images.
The bear, crane, tiger and snake are particularly suited to this idea. They immediately bring up spiritual images and open up the research of floods of associations.
