Liquid fertilizer pricing online, how do I calculate Nitrogen in liquid fertilizer? Choices and costs for a good liquid fertilizer? Is there a value to buying online versus in store? What are the Pros and Cons of buying online? Are the costs comparable? In this video I pull some basics and compare on price on manufacturers application rate and at a rate of 1/4lb N.

Products mentioned in this video are for pricing purposes only and do not reflect efficacy or judgement of the value beyond the price. One of the main reasons for more new products being available online only is distribution points. Many of these products are available both online and in store. Massive fertilizer companies like Scotts Miracle Gro, The Andersons, Simplot, and others have blenders and baggers all over the country which enables them to keep control of freight and shipping costs more than a small business with one distribution point. This competitive advantage keeps pressure on smaller suppliers to be creative in how they bring products to market. There are most definitely some types of fertilizers as far as basic blends that should only be purchased in store as the more simple the blend is, the greater chance of finding locally. Liquids of high quality are typically reserved for pro turf and golf making them less likely to be found easily. With so many choices in the market place, having a general idea of needs as in, “should I spoon feed?” “is this a granular replacement?”
This comparison often changes when more "goodies" are placed into a bottle. Material is more special as it contains more items that would often have to be purchased independently and therefore brings more value to the end user. While the disparity between online and in store pricing can be large, in some cases, it is closing in and in even more rare cases, online material is a better value.
