The Andhra Pradesh assembly has passed a resolution to dissolve the state Legislative Council. The main opposition party in Andhra Pradesh, Chandrababu Naidu's Telugu Desam Party (TDP) stayed away from the session of the Andhra assembly. The resolution will now be sent to the Centre for necessary follow-up action.
The assembly resolution came after the Andhra Pradesh Cabinet passed a resolution on Monday(January 27) setting in motion the process for abolishing the state Legislative Council.
