The Ogallala Aquifer, the largest aquifer in the United States extending across eight states, has some serious issues as water levels decline precipitously in the face of an ongoing drought and overpumping. We give background on the Ogallala and High Plains Aquifer System and discuss the current situation and potential solutions that are being worked on.
