In this review, I'm going to take a look at another beer from the Allagash Brewing Company (@allagashbrew), and it's their Gatherwell. This is an Imperial Stout that is aged in bourbon barrels for five months. I haven't had a lot of Stouts -- of any kind -- from Allagash, so I'm pretty excited about this one. Let's see how it is!
Commercial Description:
A living room filled by the warmth of a fire, a table packed with food, the cushions of a comfy couch -- there are so many great spots to gather. And we have a rich, bourbon barrel-aged stout to pair with all of them. Gatherwell is a full-bodied and, dare we say, decadent stout aged in bourbon barrels for notes of cocoa, vanilla, oak, and a hint of bourbon.
