Costochondritis is a very frustrating condition that often times gets misdiagnosed or never diagnosed. After ruling out a heart condition with stress tests, EKG’s and blood work only to be told by your cardiologist that you’re fine. Costochondrits is inflammation of the chest wall and more specifically the pectoralis muscles being overused. It’s similar to tendonitis of the pec major and minor. Costochondritis is usually correlated with thoracic spine mobility and alignment along with pec muscle overuse.
