For our latest video for Leon Bridges and Lucky Daye we had to come up with a way to get our digitally filmed images into a printable format. In this video, we breakdown the digital edit of the video versus the final stratstencil animation, which ultimately wound up being 4,500 printed frames. In future videos, we’ll be going a bit more in-depth into how you can make your own stratstencil animations at home, but for now we hope this gives you guys a good place to start!

“All About You” was made using a stop-motion technique known as Stratastencil. All 4,500 frames of video were printed, hand-cut, and photographed frame-by-frame to achieve the tunnel effect seen throughout the video. Originally invented by Javan Ivey, stratastencil is the process of multiple frames being hung in a row resulting in a trailing effect.
