After the great flood, Noah's descendants multiplied and spread across the Earth. Unlike the unified pre-flood population, they moved to new lands. Some settled near the Tigris and Euphrates rivers, aiming to build a powerful city. Wanting to stay together, they planned a towering structure, the Tower of Babel, to reach the sky. However, God, not wanting all people in one place, caused their speech to change. Unable to understand one another, they scattered, leaving the tower unfinished. The city became known as Babel, symbolizing confusion. Some ventured to Assyria, founding Nineveh; others settled in Egypt, and some reached the Mediterranean founding Sidon and Tyre. This dispersion led to diverse languages and cultures across the Earth.
