Illicit fentanyl is fueling the epidemic of overdose deaths in the United States, says the Drug Enforcement Association (DEA).
In its 2020 National Drug Threat Assessment, the DEA said the Pacific Northwest is under siege by the Mexican-based Cartel de Jalisco Nueva Generacion (CJNG), which is flooding fentanyl-laced pills into the area.
"The fentanyl-laced counterfeit prescription pills are our biggest threat in this region right now,” said Frank A. Tarentino, Special Agent in Charge, DEA Seattle Field Division. [ Ссылка ]
