We need inequality to spur innovation.
I'm not talking about wealth inequality, but a "narrative inequality". We need people to create awe-inspiring innovations to help inspire others.
Last week, I was a bit disappointed by the overwhelming amount of negativity towards Richard Branson's audacious venture into space. We need pioneers to explore new frontiers in every single industry: healthcare, education, energy and yes, space.
Also, to spur an innovation ecosystem, I believe it's important to have a few winners that can inspire a movement of new innovators. If our human behaviour is partially driven by self-interest, signaling and status, we should be asking ourselves:
How can we help plant more dreams?
