I must have got a bad batch of TOMY track In a new super international set purchased in mid October 2019. The joints of the track didnt fit together well and neither did the power rails. I have out together miles TOMY track ...never had this issue . The answer was to trim the bottom of the loc tabs for a smooth union of the two pieces of track and most of the power rails would smooth out nicely with a few passes of jeweler's file and the when the track section are connected I gently push the matting rail were they meet down with a 3/8 aluminum or brass rod .. the back of a drill bit works too.
It will never be as smooth as a commercial routed track but it is MUCH better. Lots of work..hours ..but well worth it .
Do a little , test it after wiping the track off ,..if you have to file the end of any reail to get the factory burst off were they are cut..be sure to blow them off well so no file dust is picked up by motor or traction mags.
mark the bad spot w a piece of masking tape and fit those sections...
