The much anticipated IS coupe has break cover at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show, the 2014 Lexus RC Coupe. This car is essentially a production version of the LF-CC Concept revealed last year in Paris.
On the outside, there is a familiar spindle grille, which is derived from various Lexus models while the RC's spindle grille is lower and winder than the IS sedan as well as the contoured shape. It features three LED lamps in the triangular headlights and two different rims can be chosen,18-inch five-spoke muscular alloys or optional 19-inch deeply sculpted ten-spoke rims with both of them featuring black and platinum center caps.
On the interior, the RC Coupe comes with the company's first lightning package with illumination reflecting upwards instead of downwards, which is inspired by the most recent concept vehicles. The upper area of the dashboard features instrument panel as well as a seven-inch navigation display. The center console comes with a built-in Remote Touch Interface which can be found from the IS sports luxury sedan.
Under the hood, two engine options are available. The most fuel efficient model in its range is the RC 300h which is powered by a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder Aktinson cycle engine working together with an electric motor. For performance enthusiast, the RC350 is also available and it has a 3.5-liter V6 engine. The dimensions of the RC Coupe are as follows, 4693mm long, 1394mm tall, 1838mm wide and a 2730mm wheelbase.
For those who want a much faster RC Coupe, an RC F Coupe variant will be on its way which will be likely to be unveiled at next year's Detroit Motor Show. It is rumored to be powered by a 5.0-liter V8 engine making 455 hp/339 kW and 543 Nm of torque.
