Bungie has been the company that has been doing more than just complaining about cheaters; the makers of Destiny 2 and early Halo games, they have been in and out of court with lawsuits and legal cases against cheaters and the people who sell them. They’ve had some wins in the past, causing cheat distributors Ring-12 and Perfect Aim to quit doing it out of fear that Bungie would sue the pants off of them.
And now, two more names are being added to the list of cheat makers that were brought to justice for infringing on the dev’s copyright. Elite Boss Tech and 11020781 Canada, agreeing to a settlement with Bungie that has a pretty interesting stat in it.
Seems like Bungie has valued a cheater in Destiny 2 at $2000, bringing the total judgement against the cheaters to $13.5 million dollars thanks to the fact that their software was bought a total of 6765 times.
Bungie seems to be going for blood against cheat makers, but still have nothing on Nintendo and their soul crushing legal department that continues to punish fans for even uploading video game music to YouTube. Do you think Bungie will help protect other games than the ones they own thanks to these legal decisions?
