Ralo busted rap's door down in 2015 with a Future-featured firestarter of a single, "Can't Lie," but the Gucci Mane signee has been carving his lane for years. In the latest episode of MASS APPEAL's "Open Space," the Atlanta native talks about his steady grind, what La Flare's approval means for his career, and how the dynamics of his social circles changed with fame.
"It's almost to the point where your friends become your haters," says Ralo as he describes what it's like to get more support from his #RaloGang fan base than his personal squad. Ralo's hyper-appreciation for the support from his base comes with the territory, but it's extra sweet for him. After spending a good chunk of his formative years being arrested an alleged 34 times, the "Young N***a" rapper, who converted to Islam while incarcerated to find spiritual guidance, understands what freedom costs. And he does not want a refund.
