Glaucus, a Barred Owl and Raptor-in-Residence here at the Alaska Raptor Center, working with one of her Avian Care Specialists.
Our Avian Care Specialists spend a lot of their time building a trust based relationship with our Raptors-in-Residence, but owls and most other raptor species are typically loners, spending the majority of their time looking for their next meal. Raptors are mostly solitary and do not seek the company of others, except when nesting.
Can I pet that Owl?
