Configuring Software Inventory in SCCM 2019
1. Prepare
- DC1 : Domain Controller(Yi.vn) | DC3 : Certificate server | DC4 : SCCM server | WIN101 : Client
2. Step by step : Configuring Software Inventory on DC4
- DC4 : Configuring Software Inventory for 'Windows 10' collection
+ Start - Configuration Manager Console - Administration - Right-Click 'Client Settings' - Create Custom Client Device Settings :
+ Name : Window 10 Software Inventory
+ Select and then configure the custom settings for client devices : Select 'Software Inventory' - Click 'Software Inventory' :
+ Schedule software inventory and file collection - Schedule... - Simple schedule - Run every : 2 Days (or you want)
+ Inventory these file types - Set Types... - Click * - Name : *.log, Path - Set... - Choose 'Variable or path name' : C:\Program Files - OK
+ Right-Click 'Window 10 Software Inventory' - Deploy - Choose 'Window 10'
- WIN10 : Initiate a policy update
+ Start - Control Panel - System abd Security - Configuration Manager - Actions tab - Choose 'Machine Policy Retrieval & Evaluation Cycle'
- Run Now - OK - Wait a moment
+ Click 'Configuration Manager' - Actions tab - Choose 'Software inventory Cycle' - Run Now - Wait a moment (about 20')
- DC4 : View the hardware inventory using Resource Expolorer
+ Configuration Manager Console - Assests and Compliance - Device Collections - Double-Click 'Windows 10' - Right-Click WIN101 - Start
- Resource Expolorer - Software - Check logs
