BMW doesn't have the best reputation for their plastics, and in particular charge pipes. The hard plastic can crack and shatter over time, even if the engine power is stock. I thought I had cracked mine, and purchased Mishimoto's aluminum pipes to replace them and ensure I wouldn't have to worry about charge pipe failure in the future.
