In 2022, William Kirby, former Dean of Harvard Faculty of Arts and Sciences, former Director of the Fairbank Center for Chinese Studies, and Chair of the Harvard China Fund, looked back at two centuries of higher education in his book "Empires of Ideas: Creating the Modern University from Germany to America to China".

On August 25, 2023, Wang Huiyao, President of the Center for China and Globalization (CCG), conducted an in-depth dialogue with Professor William Kirby of Harvard University. They examined the evolution of higher education systems in China, the United States, and Europe, but also explored pathways to enhance national global influence.
