In this video, we're making compound butter to add to our holiday foodie gift baskets – the gift that keeps on giving! We typically add cookbooks, cook ware, hard to find ingredients, canned foods that we grew from our summer garden and so much more.
Compound butter is a fantastic addition to your gift baskets or cooking repertoire and can be used in many different dishes. We'll learn how to make compound butter and variations you can do with whatever is in your fridge or pantry.
Add it to your potatoes, charcuterie boards, on top of resting steaks before serving, or just spread on a fresh baguette.
For the ultimate festive compound butter use roasted or sun-dried tomatoes, basil and thyme with the base.
How to make the base:
1/2 brick of butter
zest of 1 lemon
2-4 cloves crushed garlic (you choose garlic level)
healthy pinch of sea salt like Maldon or whatever you have on hand
